Flower growers honored as Kenya Flower council unveils its new logo
Kenya Flowers Council (KFC), the umbrella body governing Kenya flower farmers and growers, held an award ceremony, an event in which the regulator also rebranded, taking up a new logo.
Waridi Farm, Suera Flowers, Flamingo Horticulture Kenya and Oserian are among companies that were honored for good performance in the industry.
Others awarded were Finlay Flowers, and John Njega and Joseph Oketch, who work for KFC, for their long standing partnership and longtime services to the council respectively.
“Kenya produces world-class flowers, we should focus on improving the flower exports as they account for a huge percentage of the country’s exports to the European Union,” said KFC’s CEO Jane Ngige.
“As we celebrate 20 years of our presence in the country’s flower industry, it is only important that we rebrand to reflect our continued commitment towards helping flower farmers achieve their goals in the global flower industry,” added Ngige as she unveiled KFC’s new logo.
Herman De Boon, the global president of Union Fleurs, the Dutch Association for the wholesale trade of flowers and other horticultural produce, attended the event.
Other key figures present included Richard Fox, KFC President and Union Fleur’s Vice-President and also Flamingo Horticulture sustainability director, Association of Colombian Flower Exporters president Augusto Solano, other Union Fleur board members, Panalpina Airflo’s Conrad Archer, Betty Maina of Kenya Association of Manufacturers, KFC’s Erastus Mureithi and Frank Zeiler, Union Fleur’s Germany board member among other notable dignitaries in the flower sector.
